「Mode in Kyoto 故きを訪ねて、新しきを知る…」。京都から届いた一枚は、和であり洋であり、インストであり言葉がありの時空を超えた作品。そこから、何を想像するかは、聴き手に任されている。そんな印象だ。2012年3月28日、Jusqu'a Grand-pere（ジュスカ?グランペール）が、3枚目のアルバム『千年の戀（ちとせのこい）』を発売する。千年（せんねん）でなく千年（ちとせ）。「ちとせ」は、長い年月を意味し、縁起の良い言葉としても使われる。そんな恋。長い年月をかけた恋。それも「戀」。そこには、どんな景色があるのか？収録された曲のタイトルを見ると、桜?永久（とこしえ）?万葉?雫?戀と日本を象徴するような言葉が並ぶ。しかし、聴いてみると、日本には留まらない広がりがある。インスト?アコースティック?デュオでありながら、今作では多くのシンガーとのコラボレーションが行われ言葉が綴られている。メロディも、和だけではなく、洋の音、そして、タンゴまでと幅広い。

一青窈の「ハナミズキ」は、返歌としてオリジナル「海を越えて」とメドレーで収録。京都を歌うのは、フランスのクレモンティーヌ。これは、京都?パリ市内都市盟約締結50周年企画。碁盤の目の町「京都」と放射線状に広がる街「パリ」。どちらも美しい場所。そして、タンゴの歌詞は阿木燿子氏による書き下ろし。歌うのは、京都出身パリ在住のワサブロー。過去と今と未来、京都とパリとアルゼンチン。そこに溢れる戀がここにある。

Hanna grew up in Falun, Dalarna, with a strong innate interest and urge to create. Singing had always been a part of her, but it was not until she tried writing songs that she realized what she really wanted to be.

She slowly started to learn how to play the piano in her early teens. But since her piano teacher wasn’t particularly impressed with Hannas’ playing technique, she carried on by herself and developed until the piano eventually became a natural part of her. Singer-songwriter Charlotte Martin got her start singing opera while attending Eastern Illinois University in the late '90s. Her father was a respected professor in the music department, and naturally Martin followed his footsteps. She'd been playing piano since she was a little girl and her childhood was surrounded by music.
